Hello Conservatives,
A few days ago I caught up with House Majority Leader Mike Moyle. I asked him how things were going with his tax cut effort.
He said the tax cut proposal is still a priority. They are trying figure out a way to do some offsets to get the votes out of the Senate. They are looking at working on another draft proposal to go with basically a flat tax of 5% across-the-board idea. They will be working on it in committee slowly. The first plan on tax cuts was to take effect in 2012 but, they are working to find a way to possibly kick it in sooner. He said the C Corps is not the problem the hard part will be figuring out the individual, Sub S, and the LLCs. Of all the ideas out there, he would prefer the flat tax 5% to make Idaho more competitive with the surrounding states. There are some trying to go the other way and wanting to raise taxes but the votes aren’t there for that to happen.
I asked if he saw any problems with the Health Care Freedom Act and he said it should sail through with no problems.
And a new project he just started working on was a photo ID voter act. Voters would have to show some kind of official identification when they vote.
We will keep you updated as the work continues.
Nice job, Majority Leader Moyle!
